Veronika Halamová
Veronika is a PhD student in Art History, focusing on interdisciplinary research into visual perception and meaning-making in the experience of artworks. In her research, she combines art-historical methods with insights from philosophy, literary studies, psychology, and neuroaesthetics, aiming for a deeper understanding of how viewers interpret and emotionally respond to visual art.
During her undergraduate and master’s studies, she concentrated on the work of Aby Warburg – particularly his theory of social memory and the concept of pathos formulas, which she examined in the context of modern art. Her interest in cognitive approaches has also led her to neuroaesthetics, which forms a complementary strand of her current research.
Outside academia, Veronika is actively involved in social media marketing and science communication. She works at the Centre for Modern Art & Theory, where she contributes to making scholarly research accessible to the wider public.
