Valéria Bláha

Valéria is a PhD student and researcher at the Department of Art History of Masaryk University, working on the grant project Beyond the Village. Folk Cultures as Agents of Modernity, 1918–1945. She studied Art History at Comenius University in Bratislava, and continued her master’s studies at Masaryk University in Brno and the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.

Her research focuses on modern art and visual culture of the first half of the 20th century in a Central European context. Her doctoral dissertation examines vernacular photography in interwar Czechoslovakia. Valéria currently works as an external photography curator at the Slovak Museum of Design.
