From Texts to Threads: Notes from Nanjing
Part of the job of academics is to attend conferences and events in various parts of the world in order to disseminate their research and gain new knowledge from colleagues. But it is not so often that an invitation to do just that comes from China. The University of the Arts in Nanjing hosted a conference on editing of art and design journals attended by experts from China and elsewhere in the world. It was an opportunity for me to share my experience with the journal Art East Central, set up at Masaryk University as a publication specialised in the visual culture of Central and Eastern Europe.
