Petr Janáč

Petr is a PhD student in Art History and a freelance architect. His primary research interest focuses on various currents of the modern architectural movement. He is currently studying architects’ houses, which represent comprehensive realisations of individual architects’ visions. These houses raise questions about self-presentation, the architect’s position in society, and the villa as a building type.

As an architect, Petr places particular emphasis on surprising spatial moments and the poetic visual quality of his work. He also highlights the importance of respecting and being aware of past building traditions, while addressing questions of environmental protection.
