Patrick Laviolette

Patrick is a researcher on the project Czechs and the Colonial World: Design and Visual Culture since 1848. His eclectic interests define him as a scholar in the fields of political ecology, material and visual culture studies, and the history of science.

For many years, he travelled between Estonia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. Before moving to Brno in 2001, he was an avid hiker and adrenaline sports enthusiast. Today, however, he spends most of his time immersed in archives, artworks, biographies, photographs, films, and the songs of other creators.
