Marta Filipová
Marta’s research focuses on modernism, modern art, and design, particularly within the context of Czech and Czechoslovak interwar art. Her work has long explored questions of identity – political, national, and gender – and their relationship to artistic and visual culture. She also examines how these identities were shaped and presented through exhibition cultures and Czechoslovakia’s representation at world exhibitions.
Marta currently leads a research project funded by the Czech Science Foundation (CFS) titled Beyond the Village. Folk Cultures as Agents of Modernity, 1918–1945.
