Jana Švantnerová
Jana is a curator and researcher with extensive experience in Slovak museums, including the Slovak National Gallery, Bratislava Jewish Community Museum, and Bratislava City Museum. She has led and co-curated exhibitions such as Fruits of Discord: Portraying the Ottoman Presence (Slovak National Gallery) and a four-year project on the history and collection of the Prešov Jewish Museum. Her 2021 article Seven Examples of Cultural Inclusion Art inspired the Slovak National Gallery project Inclusive Art and Culture, addressing migration, climate crises, and decolonisation. She also curates Životopisy ľudí a vecí / Biographies of People and Things (Bratislava City Museum), focused on provenance research of non-European objects. Jana is currently a researcher on the project Czechs and the Colonial World: Design and Visual Culture since 1848.
