Alena Pomajzlová
Alena teaches modern art history at the Department of Art History at Masaryk University. She studied Art History and Italian at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague, and later worked as a curator at the Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art of the National Gallery.
Her research focuses on Czech art of the first half of the 20th century and its connections with European art. She has curated thematic exhibitions on topics such as grotesque elements in Czech art, Expressionism, Futurism, as well as monographic exhibitions on Otto Gutfreund, Josef Čapek, and Růžena Zátková. She is currently exploring the relationship between image and text in modern art.
